IM Motors (usually shortened to IM) is SAIC Motor’s premium electric vehicle marque. It was set up in 2020 as a joint venture between SAIC Motor, Alibaba Group and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Group, and is headquartered in Shanghai. The brand targets the upper-middle of China’s battery-electric price ladder: our catalogue lists seven IM models, priced from roughly $30,690 at the factory gate, which translates to about $54,326 landed in Germany once duties, countervailing tariffs, VAT and freight are applied.
